Gianna Tucci

About Me!

Hi there! I'm Gianna, and I am a Brooklyn based actor, singer, dancer, and musician. I pride myself on my versatility, and willingness to take on projects of all different kinds, and I especially enjoy collaborating with, and learning from other artists in my field!

In second grade, I discovered that singing, dancing, and acting could be combined, and my mind was blown. I starred as Queen Cabbage in my first ever musical, and I was hooked from there. As an adult, I have enjoyed playing roles that are vocally challenging such as Phoebe D'ysquith in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. I also love playing a silly comedic role like Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense. I am always looking for new and exciting challenges, and ways to push the boundaries of what musical theatre is capable of.

I first discovered the joy of performing music in at my childhood church in LaGrangeville NY, where I grew up singing in the choir, and playing handbells. This is where I first learned to read music, and sightread. Since then, I have sung in many churches and choirs, both as an ensemble member and as a soloist. I am currently working as a section leader and soloist at The Congregational Church of Manhasset on Long Island.

Musical Theatre is my first love, but I also enjoy jazz singing! I have been a singer with The Satin Dollz for two years. The group is comprised of singers that are both powerhouse soloists, and excellent at close harmony. We focus mainly on 1940s and 1950s jazz music, and we perform all around NYC and the greater tri-state area.

In addition to singing jazz, I am also the lead singer of Chef's Salad, an indie rock band that performs at festivals, and events. You can learn more about us on our Instagram which is linked below.

In addition to performing, I also teach voice lessons to students of all ages. I graduated from The Crane School of Music with a Bachelor of Music Education, and I have found so much joy in passing on my knowledge of vocal technique and music theory to other artists.

When I am not performing and teaching, I co-produce an annual Summer music festival with my partner, in upstate New York called Big Lawn Music Festival. Every year, Big Lawn strives to showcase women, queer, gender nonconforming, black, indigenous, musicians of color, and disabled musicians by inviting 12 musical acts to play on our main stage in Poughkeepsie NY. Summer 2024 will mark our fourth year hosting the festival.
